History of our valley.
History abounds in our valley, we are only 2 miles from the famous Llanthony Priory - a picturesque, partly ruined Augustinian priory, built around the year 1100 and where in 1118, a group of around 40 monks from England founded this Augustinian priory, the first in Wales.
On one side of the valley we have Hatterrall Hill part of the Black Mountains eastern ridge straddling the Welsh-English border and forming part of the Offas Dyke Long Distance Footpath.
The whole area has been the focus of many television documentaries over the years and was recently featured on the BBC series Border Country to name but one.
